HOW NON-RESIDENTS CAN BUY PROPERTIES AND REAL ESTATE IN THAILAND



Foreigners, or ‘farrang’ as we get called, cannot buy land in their own name in Thailand.

Thai law was clarified during 2006 and the following two methods are now the legal ways for us to
purchase property in Thailand:

*you can buy an apartment in a condominium 100% in your own name*

*you can buy or build a house in your own name with a 30+30 year (extendible) lease on the land*
